Product Data Sheet

WindBand Shroud and Rope Halyard Protection System

Cell Towers operate under demanding conditions.  Materials are exposed to continuous strain from the elements.  UV exposure and wind driven vibrations and flexing put any antenna shroud to the test.  It is a given that within time structural cracks develop increasing the risk of catastrophic shroud failure.  A falling shroud puts people and property in danger.

The WindBand provides another line of defense to keep the shrouds where they belong.  On the tower!  The WindBand is an engineered solution using high strength and long lasting materials and installs in about 10  minutes.  It wraps around the multi-section or  cylindrical shroud keeping them in place when fasteners are left out, the begin to crack and under high wind conditions.

In addition to significantly improving tower safety WindBands also extend the life of rope halyards by getting them off most of the sharp edges found on tower surfaces.

After the initial installation WindBands take less than a minute to remove or reinstall.

WindBand Placement

WindBands are now RF transparent.  Place them anywhere on the shroud!  Over time cylindrical shrouds develop vertical cracks often running the length of the shroud therefore 2 WindBands are recommended for this style.  Sectional shrouds are not as strong and will flex under high wind conditions if enough fasteners are missing or if the shroud has been mechanically compromised.  For these shrouds 3 WindBands are recommended and should be placed at the top, middle and bottom.
