Getting started
Everything you need to protect, secure and maintain a concealment tower.
Whether you own the towers, run the program or do the install, this guide walks you through what a site needs, how to measure and size it, and how to order.
In this guide
1What a site needs
Three systems, one supplier, from shroud to flag
A concealment tower has three parts that wear out or fail: the shrouds, the flag truck at the top and the flag rigging. Every component is designed to work with the others, so nothing has to be adapted in the field.
Keep shrouds on the tower
WindBands
3,900+ lbs on a typical 10 ft shroud through 90+ mph winds, even with missing fasteners or cracks, so a loose shroud never becomes a falling one. Fits 18 to 100 in towers.
Lasso Loop
Matched to each WindBand size so the crew sets the band from one spot instead of circling the tower in the bucket.
Installation Toolkit
Every WindBand installation component in one case, so crews arrive with what they need.
Fly the flag without the upkeep
SwingArm Truck
Aluminum with stainless fasteners and sealed stainless bearings that won't bind or seize, so the truck isn't replaced every few years. Fits 24 to 73 in towers and works with WindBands.
Adapter Plate
Installs over the existing truck boss without removing it, so existing towers upgrade with no rebuild.
Finial Ball
Gold anodized aluminum that tops the truck and holds its finish.
Raise and lower from the ground
American Flags
Made in the USA. Open-weave polyester lets wind pass through, so there is less tearing and flags are replaced less often. 10 x 15 to 20 x 30 ft.
Halyard
3/8 in kernmantle rope rated 6,000 lbs that resists abrasion and UV, cut to the length your tower needs.
Hardware Kit and Cleat Kit
Everything to rig the flag and secure the halyard at the base, tooling included, so crews install it right the first time.
2Why it matters
The shroud carries the most risk on the tower

Shrouds loosen, crack and fail
Wind, UV and vibration work fasteners loose and spread cracks. Once a shroud goes airborne it rarely survives the fall, and towers sit near offices, schools, roads and parking lots.

Cranes are the expensive part
Every repair or re-secure means another crane rental and another crew visit. A new shroud costs thousands before anyone lifts it back up.

The hurricane tape solution falls short
Pallet strapping and a buckle, tape wrapped by circling the bucket around the tower, then spray adhesive. The buckle fails at about 135 lbs, and it all gets redone every visit.
5 year savings per tower
$12,412
Hurricane tape solution $16,500 vs. WindBands $4,088 over 5 years, materials plus crew and crane time. WindBands come off and go back on in about a minute, so they pay for themselves after 2 service visits.
Run your own numbersAssumes 4 shrouds, 3 WindBands per shroud, 2 service visits a year, $200/hr crew and $300/hr crane.
3Measure
Six things to know about each site
Most of this is on the tower drawings. Don't have time to pull it? Send us the drawings and we'll find the diameter, heights, shroud count and thread for you.
Send us your drawings| What | Where to find it | What it sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Tower diameter at the shrouds | Site drawings, or measure the circumference and divide by 3.14 | WindBand size, Lasso Loop, SwingArm Truck |
| Number of shrouds | Count the shroud sections on the tower | WindBand quantity |
| Shroud height | Site drawings, usually 8 to 12 ft | WindBands per shroud |
| Tower height | Site drawings | Flag size and halyard length |
| Spindle thread | UNC or NPT, from the existing truck or drawings. Most towers are UNC. | SwingArm Truck and Adapter Plate |
| Ship-to address | Site, yard or office | Shipping (UPS Ground) |
4Size
Let the Site Kit Builder make the list
Enter your measurements once and it picks the right WindBands, Lasso Loop, truck, Adapter Plate, flag and halyard length, with part numbers and prices. The rules it follows:
WindBands per shroud
Under 8 ft: 2
8 to 12 ft: 3
Over 12 to 16 ft: 4
WindBand size
WB50: 18 to 50 in
WB70: over 50 to 70 in
WB100: over 70 to 100 in
SwingArm Truck
Standard: 24 to 42 in
Medium UNC: 39 to 58 in
Long UNC: 54 to 73 in
Add 1 in with WindBands; in overlaps, pick the smaller.
Flag and halyard
Flag size by tower height. Halyard = tower height x 2 + flag height + 20 ft, rounded up to the next 10 ft.
5Order
Order the way your company buys
Owners order direct, contractors order for the sites they work on, and some programs do both. Every site gets its own quote, and you can send us as many sites at once as you need.
Email us your list
Build the list in the Site Kit Builder and email it to us with your site name or number, ship-to and billing addresses, and tower drawings if you have them. We confirm the parts and send a quote with UPS Ground shipping.

6Install and maintain
Built so crews spend less time on the tower
WindBands
Under 5 minutes to install
The Lasso Loop sets each band without circling the tower. After every service visit, each WindBand comes off and goes back on in about a minute, with no re-taping.
SwingArm Truck
No rebuild on existing towers
The Adapter Plate goes over the existing boss, and the removable center beam lets circular shrouds come off easily for service.
Flag system
Raised and lowered from the ground
The cleat kit secures the halyard at the base, so flags are changed without a climb or a lift.

From one site to a standard
Pilot
Start with a few sites already due for service.
Add to scope
Put WindBands in the maintenance scope and closeout checklist.
Share the builder
Send contractors the Site Kit Builder so every site is sized the same way.
Quote many sites at once
Send drawings for each site and get a separate quote for every one.

Getting started FAQ
Common first questions
Who usually orders, the tower owner or the contractor?
Both. Some owners buy direct and ship to their contractors, and some contractors order for the sites they work on. Either way, each site gets its own quote.
What if I only need one part?
Order it on its own. Every component is sold separately in the store, and the Site Kit Builder lets you turn off anything you don't need.
Can I send tower drawings instead of measuring?
Yes. Send them through the contact form or email them to info@2KRsystems.com, for one site or many. We find the tower diameter, heights, shroud count and thread, and send a separate quote for each site.
What if I don't know the spindle thread?
Choose "Not sure." Most towers are UNC, and we confirm with you before invoicing or shipping.
How do you ship?
UPS Ground. In-stock items usually ship within 5 business days. We ship worldwide, including Canada.
Ready to size your first site?
Use the Site Kit Builder, send us your drawings, or call +1 (603) 397-3331.
