Cell tower flags are sized by tower height with this table, not the rule used for ground flagpoles. For example, a 120 ft tower flies a 12 x 18 or 15 x 25 ft flag.

A 3/8 in kernmantle rope rated 6,000 lbs. The polyester sheath protects the core from abrasion and UV for safe raising and lowering from the ground and a longer rope life.
How much rope?
Tower height x 2 + flag height + 20 ft
Example: 100 ft tower, 12 x 18 flag: 100 x 2 + 12 + 20 = 232 ft, rounded up to 240 ft. The extra 20 ft gives the ground crew room to work.
