The halyard raises and lowers the flag from the ground, so it has to stay strong through years of sun and wind. Ours is a 3/8 in kernmantle rope rated 6,000 lbs, with a UV-resistant polyester sheath that protects the core from abrasion and doesn’t stretch.

Every halyard is cut to length. To size it: tower height x 2 + flag height + 20 ft, rounded up to the next 10 ft. For example, a 100 ft tower flying a 12 x 18 flag needs 240 ft. The extra 20 ft gives the ground crew room to work.

Order 100 to 400 ft online in 10 ft steps. Need more than 400 ft? Contact us and we’ll quote it.
